Call for Abstracts /Papers for a Special Issue on “Role of Health Economics: Era of Egypt Health Sector Reform”

In alignment with Unified Procurement Authority establishment and its crucial role within the current healthcare Reform, as its role is to contribute effectively to the core values of Egypt's 2030 healthcare vision: Equity, solidarity and efficient allocation of resources.

In the same context; Under the auspices of His Excellency Egypt’s president, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, UPA will organize The Mega Conference and Exhibition, Africa Health Excon, for the third time in a row, enabling a spectacular potential for unlocking opportunities for medical investment and fostering innovative pharmaceutical businesses in addition to providing a platform promoting capacity building and sharing scientific Experience and insights.

Health Economics, Health technology assessment and efficient allocation of resources is playing now a crucial role within the Egypt Health sector Reform, paving the way for achieving Universal health Coverage and ensuring sustainability of healthcare financing.

This special issue invites leading scholars, researchers, regulators, payers, decision makers, and global thought leaders to submit their work on the latest progresses, challenges, and innovations in these fields.

Key topics covered in this special themed issue include::

  1. Economic Evaluation studies: Various types of full economic evaluation studies and the provided recommendations supporting Evidence-Based Decision making in the health care sector for proper allocation of resources.
  2. Real world Evidence: articles focusing on the application of Real-World Evidence (RWE) to aid Evidence-Based Decision making; challenges and opportunities of application of RWE should be illustrated
  3. Rational use of medicines/ health technologies: researchers are encouraged to highlight real life examples for rational use of health care resources and the consequent impact on cost containment within the healthcare sector.

Deadline for submission: 1st May
Decision: 2-4 weeks from submission date

Accepted submissions; will be published as full manuscript in Bulletin of the Faculty of Pharmacy Cairo University Journal and would be presented as posters in the 3rd Edition of Africa Health Excon, that will be held on 5th-7th June 2024 at Egypt International Exhibition (Al Manar).
